Accurate diagnoses, better treatment

Dr. Jules Hesse has dedicated his career to one clear goal: helping dental professionals achieve more accurate diagnoses and better treatment decisions in jaw-related disorders.

In 1983, together with Professor Tore Hansson from Sweden, he founded the first multidisciplinary collaboration on jaw function at the University of Amsterdam’s Faculty of Dentistry. Their textbook Craniomandibular Dysfunction (1985) quickly became a standard reference and was published in eight languages. In 1996, Dr. Hesse defended his PhD on craniomandibular border characteristics and orofacial pain, emphasizing the crucial role of orthopaedic testing in jaw diagnostics..

Lectures and workshops

With a background in physiotherapy, manual therapy, and specialized physical therapy, Dr. Hesse has held long-standing positions at the University of Amsterdam, Slotervaart Medical Center, and trained in the United States. Since 2012, he has also been a certified Golf-Physio Trainer. Today, Dr. Hesse focuses entirely on education. Through training sessions and workshops, he shares the practical application of the Biomecmodels Jaw Model with dental professionals and teaching institutes. His aim is to provide clear, hands-on tools that broaden diagnostic perspectives and improve treatment outcomes.

The unique Biomecmodels jaw model

In 1985, Dr. Hesse designed a unique dento-orthopaedic instructional model. This high-quality and technically ingenious model enables clinicians to explain complex situations in the head and neck area to patients in a clear and simple manner. Whether for students, practitioners, or educators, Biomecmodels represents Dr. Hesse’s lifelong commitment to better diagnoses and better treatment planning.
